Fort Worth's Factory Job Pipeline: Who's Hiring Now and What's Still Pending

FORT WORTH, TX — Fort Worth is in the middle of a factory hiring run that most job seekers haven't mapped yet. Two big plants opened at AllianceTexas this summer and are staffing up now, while three more manufacturing projects are waiting on a company decision or a City Council vote.

💼 Hiring Now: Engines and Circuit Boards at Alliance

The surest jobs are the ones with the lights already on. MTU Maintenance opened its expanded engine shop at 2100 Eagle Parkway on July 8, inside the old American Airlines maintenance base at Perot Field. According to Hillwood, the AllianceTexas developer, the $120 million site is overhauling LEAP-1B engines for the Boeing 737 MAX and plans more than 1,200 jobs, most of them engine mechanics. The detail that matters for career changers: MTU runs its own paid training classes on site, so an A&P license isn't the only way in.

A few miles away at Alliance Gateway, Taiwan's Foxlink Group opened its first U.S. "AI Factory" in July and began production in August. The 147,780-square-foot plant builds printed circuit board assemblies with heavy robotics, and Hillwood says it will employ about 900 people at full capacity. Plants like this typically need production technicians, electronics assemblers, quality inspectors and maintenance techs.

⏳ Still Pending: Carrier, HARTING and Mach

Carrier. On September 15, the City Council created a tax abatement zone and nominated the project for a Texas Enterprise Zone designation to land a $433.8 million HVAC and refrigeration plant in the Alliance Westport area. The deal calls for about 495 jobs by the end of 2029 at an average salary of at least $75,000. Fort Worth is competing with three other states for it.

HARTING Connectivity. The German connector maker is weighing a $192.7 million move of its U.S. headquarters and manufacturing from Elgin, Illinois, to the Wichita-20 Business Park in southeast Fort Worth. City economic development staff have described about 700 jobs, including headquarters roles, at an average starting wage near $87,000. The city's public notice sets the council's consideration for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 29. Reporting on the proposal says HARTING is still looking at other sites.

Mach Industries. In August the council approved up to $4.5 million in incentives for the defense tech startup at Alliance Gateway 34, tied to at least 600 jobs averaging $67,470 or more. Mach has not publicly confirmed the plant.

Be clear-eyed about these three. No local openings or hiring dates have been announced for any of them. Get your resume ready and watch for postings, but don't pass on a real offer while you wait.
